Good music - I enjoyed this CD. I actually purchased it for the wife but I have enjoyed it. It reminds me of Alanis mixed with some fiona apple.
Wonderful! - Her voice is sooo unique, it is so relaxing and beautiful. If you are looking to kick back and relax, turn on Kate, she will help you do so!
Love this album! - I first heard an interview with Kate Earl on Sirius Satellite Radio and as soon as I heard her voice I had to have the album! Each song is different from the one before it, but you fall in love with each of them immediately! Her voice is amazing! It s so refreshing to hear something different from the cookie cutter radio song out there! Buy this album, you will NOT be disappointed!
Her Fate Is Our Fortune - I first had the good fortune of hearing Kate Earl online through NPR s music series, World Cafe. Halfway through the first song she performed, When You re Older, I knew that my next visit would be to ITunes, and a day hasn t come and gone since that I haven t played most or all of this wonderful album. These songs are not about hooks and catch phrases. Rather, they represent the literal and figurative journey of a gifted young songwriter, one that may have begun geographically in Alaska but, in fact, actually started deep inside her heart. The combined beauty of her voice and the courage and honesty of her lyrics as she confronts a brief but challenging past and an uncertain future, had me feeling that I d made a new friend. Kate Earl and producer Tony Berg have created a record possessed of both energy and nuance, so much so that it is hard to believe that this isn t her third or fourth release rather than her first. I read only recently that Kate Earl has begun writing for her next album. Once you ve heard Fate Is the Hunter I m certain that you ll be anticipating it as much as I am.
Fate is the Hunter - This is easy listening music. Kate has a nice voice and her music is a good choice to listen to when I m relaxing or have a few friends over. I actually hadn t heard of her, but seen her CD advertised in a magazine. I bought it not knowing what she sounded like, but am very glad I did.
